About Ardo

Hi there! Welcome to my little spot on the internet. 

My name is Sarah (she/her), a 20-something-year-old from West Oxfordshire, UK. 

Ardo Illustrations was originally born back in 2020 during my second year at university, at the height of pandemic boredom. With some extra cash from a cancelled holiday to the Dominican, I bought myself an iPad and filled my days teaching myself digital art. Inspired by the likes of Katnipp, Paloma the Peach, Uncomfy and Kel Lauren, I spent that summer building a little Etsy shop, making a few small sales along the way, before putting my shop on a permanent holiday as I returned to university. 

My education does not lie in the arts; I hold a BSc in Geography and an MSc in Environmental Pollution, from which I went on to work as an Environmental Consultant for a couple of years before leaving to travel with my boyfriend in 2025. 

I have always loved creating art however, whether digital or more 'traditional', my heart always comes back to the yearning to create and what Ardo Illustrations could be.

Fun Fact: I came up with 'Ardo' as a mash-up of my first branding idea of 'Art by Doyle'.
